The Original Wine of the Month Club emailed us not to long ago and offered to set us some wine to try. Since I’ve heard a lot of good things about them, I said sure send it over. Never having tried their wine club before, I was excited to see what they were all about.

The Syrah wine, pictured above, has flavor of black fruit, pepper, and eucalyptus and an almost thick finish with lots of extract.

I am learning a lot about the wine as I continue to work my way through their wine newsletter.

Also, you will get the 4 Seasons tasting notes. When I received my first wine club, I knew nothing about flavors, aromas, or even the difference between a Merlot and Pinot Noir. After sitting down and reading the tasting notes as I was drinking the wine, I started to attempt to locate the aromas and flavors that were supposed to be in the wine. At first, I could locate any flavors. It just smelled and tasted like...wine.

Eventually, I started to focus on smelling out one flavor at a time and didn't move on until I started to notice the flavor. After some practice, I can now pick out flavors and aromas without even looking at the tasting notes. Now, you may not learn as quickly as I did but if you really put some effort into it, you can get a solid wine education.
